| The
Japanese-American photographer/ Photo Essayist AK was
born in Kobe and has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area
for over 10 years. She received her training in photography
in Holy Name College in Oakland and Oxford University
in the UK. Worked as a photographer/designer for Japanese
publications in SF and as a fashion photographer for JPI
model's Inc in SF. Since 2000, she has been working as
an independent photographer and Essayist.

“I am not the one who enjoy talking about my work,
because my inspiration is so private and important for
many reasons. I had a couple of photographers asking me
how I take these shots. I don’t know what to say,
but I see result before I take pictures. That’s
why I do or sometime don’t take pictures. My tool
is my sense that are not in any books. -
